Vigel History
 
Vigel was founded on June 1947 by Lodovico Geninat, in Turin. Mr. Geninat envisioned a company which could develop innovative solutions to its customers around the globe. At the beginning the production program was focused on Automatic Tapping Machines.
1947
  • Founded in Turin, Vigel starts the production of Tapping Machines.
  • Volume production of the ALFA - BETA - ALFA TR models.
  • Patent granted in the most advanced European countries.
1960s
  • Vigel relocates at Borgaro, just outside Turin (1961).
  • Production on the M65 - M65/T – DELTA models.
  • Beginning of the manufacture of rotary transfer machines.
1970s
  • Extension of the factory.
  • Consolidation of the production of modular rotary transfer machines BM 135 - BC - BCM.
  • Commencement of supplies to European automakers.
1980s
  • Collaboration with Snow Manufacturing (USA) and licence Bajaj Auto (India).
  • Vigel Modulflex - CNC modular production systems.
  • Vigel USA starts business in Chicago.
1990s
  • Founding a second plant in Rivarolo: 5.000 sq.m. under roof on an area of 12.000 sq.m.
  • Vigel France starts its operation (1992).
  • Consolidation of the range of multiaxis CNC Working Modules for flexible transfer lines.
  • Vigel Germany starts its operation (1997).
2000s
  • Over fifty years after its foundation, Vigel is firmly placed as a System Integrator.
  • Vigel is ready to meet the new century requirements with a wide range of production alternatives: High Speed Machining Centers / Lean Production Cells/ CNC Transfer Machines.
  • Founding BVM – J.V. for parts production.
Today
  • Vigel USA new strategy: relocation of its operations in Detroit area and organisation of a local service and spare parts activity (2004).
  • Renewing of the Machining Centers product line.
  • Development of a vertical Machining Center (2-4 spindles)with an innovative self-loading system(patented).
  • Start of a new company in India (2005).
  • Introduction in the market of the new ONE SP 500 H with low-cost concepts.
  • Vigel relocates its headquarters in a new plant: 15000 sq.m under roof on an area of 35000 sq.m (2006).
